FAR NORTH VETS DURING COVID-19 LEVEL 4

VETERINARY SERVICES HAVE BEEN CLASSIFIED AS AN ESSENTIAL SERVICE DURING THE LEVEL 4 RESPONSE. THIS MEANS:

  • Our clinic building is closed to the public - please call us first, and do not just turn up.

  • We can still provide emergency care for your animals.

  • We can still see urgent cases in person, if we think it is required.

  • We can still undertake most farm work where there is an immediate or future risk of animal welfare being compromised, after we have done a COVID-19 risk assessment with you.

  • We can still supply you with food and medications for your animals.

  • We are not doing routine consultations or surgeries for your pets, e.g. adult booster vaccinations, desexing, nail clips.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU:

  • If you are concerned about your animal, please call us! Many issues can be addressed with a phone consultation (please note these still incur a fee).

  • We are seeing urgent companion animal cases 9am -12pm by prior appointment only, after we have determined a need for this.

  • We will see your animal if we think we need to, but there are restrictions that apply:

    • You will be asked screening questions about your current COVID-19 risk. Please be honest about this. We can still see your animals if they are in a COVID-19 household, but we need to take extra precautions. Please do not risk our health. We need to be here for everybody's animals!

    • Please ensure you bring cats in a cage, and dogs on a secure collar and long lead.

    • You will not be allowed to enter the clinic - a staff member will collect your animal, the vet will examine them inside, and communicate with you over the phone regarding any treatment needed.

    • Non-compliance with our restrictions will result in discontinuation of our services in future.

  • If you need to order food or medication, please call us at least 24 hours ahead of time. You will then be given a time-slot for collection. In some instances, we can arrange delivery for you.

  • Non-contactless forms of payment are requested. e.g. internet banking. Please pay via electronic means rather than cash wherever possible.

  • We are not currently operating on Saturdays.

  • We are not able to do home visits for pets, including euthanasia, at this time.

Our staff are still here to help you and your animals.

However, failure by us to take appropriate action against COVID-19 for our staff and you risks us being closed down!

We therefore ask for your patience and understanding of the changes we need to make during this time.
